Whitney Auguston, 15, kicks back Thursday afternoon with Anada (left) and Tsunami (right), a pair of beef cattle Auguston she is showing at the Evergreen State Fair this week in Monroe. A member of Wranglers 4H Club in Snohomish, Auguston pointed out that the cows are not just comfortable to nap on during a warm summer day. "It's nice when it's cold out because they're at 101 degrees naturally," said Auguston. Anytime she is not working or showing, laying with her cows is where she wants to be, said Auguston. With the fair just getting started on Thursday, there is plenty of work to be done. "If you're here tomorrow, I'm making you wash a cow," said Auguston to her friend Tiffany Baker, 15, a friend from school who came by the barn just to talk. Auguston was quick to point out that that means arriving around 5 a.m.
